Providence, RI - Brown senior women's lacrosse standouts Jesse Nunn (Worton, MD) and Kelly Robinson (Marlton, NJ), who were named First and Second Team All-Ivy, respectively, have been selected to compete in the 2009 IWLCA/Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game. The contest will take place at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA on Saturday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m.
Across all three divisions, 118 student-athletes were recognized in their final year of eligibility, including 43 from Division I. Nunn and Robinson are the only Ivy League student athletes on the North Squad, while four student athletes represent the League on the South Squad. The North Team will be coached by Boston University's Liz Robertshaw, while Maryland's Cathy Reese will coach the South Team.
Despite missing three games on the season due to injuries, Nunn tied for the team lead in points and led the Bears with 25 goals, including five multiple goal games and a pair of five-goal games, scoring at least one goal in 11 of 12 games played. In Ivy games only, Nunn led the Bears with 13 points and 11 goals in just six games. She also had 20 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and seven draw controls. Overall, Nunn finished ninth in the Ivy League with 2.08 goals per game. For her career, Nunn scored 66 goals and had 73 points. She also earned 44 ground balls, 11 draw controls, and 21 caused turnovers.
Robinson finished the season ranked fifth on the team in scoring with 21 points, including 20 goals, third on the team, nine of which came in Ivy League contests. The 21 points and 20 goals was a career high, as she had scored just 14 goals in her previous three seasons, combined, and tallied 16 points. She started all 15 games in the midfield, and also racked up 19 ground balls, 11 draw controls, and nine caused turnovers. On the season, Robinson scored at least one goal in 12 games, including five multiple-goal games and a season-high four against Princeton. For her career, Robinson finished with 37 points, including 34 goals, 59 ground balls, 39 draw controls, and 26 caused turnovers.
