Women's Skaters to Play Two ECAC-Eastern Contests, Including Annual Mayor's Cup Game

Dec. 6, 2001

On Saturday, the team will travel to Northeastern for a 2:00pm match, and on Sunday Brown (4-4-1, 4-3-0) will battle city rival Providence College in the annual Mayor's Cup Game. Game time is set for 2:00pm. The cross town rivalry should be an exciting one, as both the Bears and the Friars will be competing for city bragging rights.

The Bears are coming off a two game series at St. Lawrence this past weekend. The Saints took the first game of the weekend, by a score of 3-2, but the Bears battled back to win the final game of the weekend, 4-2. The win snapped a four game winless streak for the Bears. Brown's victory also handed the Saints its first league loss of the season.

Sophomore Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) has set a goal scoring trend, as of late, tallying a point in Brown's last four games. McManus leads the team in scoring with 5-5-10 on the season.

Junior Pam Dreyer (Eagle River, AK) and sophomore Katie Germain (Sarnia, ONT) continue to post solid games between the pipes for the Bears. After seeing limited action in 2000-2001, Germain has come on strong this season, and ranks second in both ECAC goaltending categories with a 1.01 GAA and 95% save percentage in league play. Both goaltenders have been key to the Bears' success.
