Brown University senior Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) was named ECACHL Player of the week for her strong performance against Northeastern and Providence this past week. Nugent recorded two goals and two assists, including the game-winner in the 2-1 victory over #9 Providence College in the Mayor's Cup Saturday, November 27.
Nugent was involved in both of the Bears' goals against Providence, assisting on the first and netting the second. With under a minute left to play in the second period Nugent received a pass in front of the Friar's net and pushed it past the goalie giving the Bears' a 2-1 lead, that would hold for the rest of the game.
Against Northeastern Nugent padded the lead to two, when she scored on a Bears' power-play late in the first period. She went on to assist the following goal early in the second, pushing the game out. Nugent finished the week with a +4 rating.
With her four-point performance this week, Nugent moved into second in total points for the Bears, posting ten on the season, with four goals and six assists.
Nugent and the Bears will return to action Friday, December 3, when they will travel to Union College for a weekend double header with the Dutchwomen.
