Providence, RI - The women's ice hockey team (2-4-0, 1-1-0) will return to Meehan this weekend after having been on the road the last two weekends of play, taking on the Big Green of Dartmouth College tonight at 7:00 PM and facing off against the #6 Crimson tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 PM.
Brown has met both the Big Green and Crimson 58 times all-time. The Big Green and Bears split last year's season series, each winning at home putting the series at 25-26-7 in favor of Dartmouth. Last February's 3-1 win snapped a five game winless streak the Big Green had over the Bears, out scoring Brown 20-11.
The once travel partners Brown and Harvard have participated in countless memorable match-ups in the past 58 meetings. Brown has a slight edge in the all-time series leading the Crimson 29-26-3. Harvard swept the season series last year coming from behind in the 6-3 victory in November and shutting out Bruno 4-0 later in January. The Bears are looking to snap an eight game winless streak against Harvard, in which the Crimson has held Brown to only 17 goals.
The Bears have struggled offensively, only recording eight goals in their first six games, having four of them go through sophomore Hayley Moore (Wakefield, MA). Moore has recorded a point in four of the first six games, for a team high four points, netting three goals and one assist. Freshman goaltender Nicole Stock (Buffalo Grove, IL) got her first start in the crease for the Bears last Sunday in the 3-0 loss to #4 Minnesota. Stock had a strong showing stopping 36 of 39 shots, including a barrage of 14 shots in the opening period.
