Women's Ice Hockey Heads West For A Weekend Series With #4 Gophers

Providence, RI - The women's ice hockey team (2-2-0, 1-1-0) will hit the road for the second consecutive week, heading west to take on the #4 Gophers in a weekend series in Minneapolis, MN. The two squads will face-off Saturday, November 12 at 1:07 PM (CT) and Sunday, November 13 at 1:07 PM (CT).

After Brown's 2-1 victory over the Gophers in the 2002 NCAA Frozen Four, Minnesota has went on and defeated the Bears the past five meetings, out scoring Brown 31-8. Last season the trend continued as the Gophers pulled out 8-2 and 5-0 victories. Minnesota is currently ranked #4 in the country and the Bears are 1-1 against ranked teams this season.

Seniors Myria Heinhuis (Chatham, ONT) and Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) will appear in their 100th game on Saturday when they take the ice against Minnesota. The two seniors appeared in every game for their career and were two of seven that made it in the line-up for all 32 games last year.

This weekend will mark the return of sophomore Kathryn Moos. Moos a dual sport athlete will join the squad after competing with the soccer team in the fall. Last season, Moos ranked third on the Bears in points, recording seven goals and a team leading 15 assists for 22 points in 29 games, after joining the team at the conclusion of the soccer season. Moos, a native of Wayzata, MN will have a homecoming for the second time in two years.
