Oct. 31, 2005

Albany, NY - Sophomore goaltender O'Hara Shipe (Anchorage, AK) earned ECACHL Goalie of the Week honors, after notching her first victory of the year holding the high powered #5 UNH offense to two goals, their lowest goal total of the season, in the 3-2 victory on Sunday.

Shipe was solid in goal for Brown and earned the 3-2 win over the No. 5 New Hampshire Wildcats on Sunday. The sophomore netminder stopped 21 shots in the game, including a rapid-round of 13 in the first period alone. With the Bears up 2-1, she helped maintain the lead by stopping a one-one-one chance. She anchored a defense that stopped seven power-play chances and allowed five or fewer shots in the second and third periods.

Shipe and the Bears will open up ECACHL conference play this upcoming weekend, when they travel to Colgate/Cornell, taking on the Raiders on Friday, November 4, at 7:00 PM and the Big Red Saturday, November 5, at 4:00 PM.
