Albany, NY - Senior defenders Ashlee Drover (Bay Roberts, NF) and Myria Heinhuis (Chatham, ONT) will be joined by sophomore forward Hayley Moore (Wakefield, MA) on the ECAC Hockey League All-Star Team. The All-Star Team will face the 2005-06 U.S. Women's National Team on Tuesday, November 1 at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, CT, at 7:30 p.m. The game will mark the third of an eleven game tour for Team USA on the Hilton Family Skate at 2006 Tour, presented by the Hilton Family of Hotels.
Heinhuis, the Bear's only defender last season to dress in all 32 games, made her mark offensively, recording a career high six goals and eight assists for 14 points. Heinhuis earned Second Team All-ECACHL and First Team All-Ivy honors.
After recovering from an early injury that sidelined her for most of the first half of the season, Drover made her presence known immediately for Brown. In the February 4 game against Dartmouth, Drover recorded the game winning goal to clinch the sixth seed in the ECACHL playoffs.
A member of the All-ECACHL Rookie team, Moore finished last season second for the Bears in scoring, recording 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points, ranking her second in the conference in rookie scoring and tenth in the nation in points per game among first year players.
The ECACHL All-Star Team will be coached by Harvard head coach Katey Stone and her assistants Claudia Asano and Michelle McAteer. The all-star coaching staff selected the team with the input from all eleven league coaches.
Twenty-one players will represent the league with three players each from Brown, Colgate, Harvard, Princeton, St. Lawrence and Yale. Cornell, Dartmouth, and Quinnipiac have one player each.
