Stock and Connors Nab ECACHL Weekly Honors
Jan. 22, 2007
Sophomore goaltender Nicole Stock (Buffalo Grove, IL) and freshman forward Erin Connors (Newburyport, MA) were named ECACHL Goaltender and Rookie of the Week after helping the Bears to a 2-1-0 mark. The Bears defeated Northeastern (1/16), 4-1, and Cornell (1/20), 3-0, and narrowly lost to Colgate (1/19), 4-3, over the course of the week.
Stock played in all three games, starting in the wins over Northeastern and Cornell. She made 56 saves and allowed just one goal in 137:24, good for a .982 save percentage and 0.44 goals-against average. In picking up a 2-0-0 record, Stock made 23 saves against Northeastern while allowing one goal, and made 21 saves for her second shutout of the year, and fourth of her career, against Cornell. On Friday against Colgate, she made 12 saves in nearly 17 and a half minutes of relief to allow the Bears to come back. For the season, Stock sports a 5-5-2 record, posting a .919 save percentage and a 2.47 goals-against average.
Connors nearly doubled her season point total over the three games, picking up five points on two goals and three assists. Her best game came against Colgate, when she factored in on all three Brown goals, scoring one herself and assisting two others. She also picked up an assist against Northeastern and a goal against Cornell. Connors now has a six-game point streak, during which she has four goals and four assists. For the season, the first-year is third on the Bears with 11 points (5g, 6a).
Also honored was junior co-captain Hayley Moore (Wakefield, MA). Moore was named to the ECACHL Honor Roll after an eight-point week. She factored in all but two of Brown's 10 goals over the three games, netting four points against Northeastern (2g, 2a), and two points against both Colgate and Cornell, getting a goal and an assist in each contest. Moore is currently Brown's point leader, averaging more than a point per game with 24 on the season (15g, 9a). She has 13 points (8g, 5a) during her current team-high eight-game point streak.
The Bears will play at Yale tomorrow night, their first road game since Jan. 7.
