Providence, RI - Sophomore goalie O'Hara Shipe (Anchorage, AK) earned her second consecutive Goalie of the Week honor, third of the season, after her combined 65 saves in this weekend's split with 1-0 win over #9 Clarkson and 4-1 loss to #3 St. Lawrence.
Shipe anchored the Brown defense that was under constant pressure all weekend stopping 65 of 69 shots in the split with the North Country squads, shutting out #9 Clarkson 1-0 stopping all 25 shots and falling to the #3 St. Lawrence Saints 4-1, making 40 saves (compared to the six by her counterpart). In their win over Golden Knights the Shipe was a wall between the pipes for the Bears. With Clarkson looking for the equalizer late in the game, Shipe fought through traffic in front to make a diving stick save, keeping Clarkson off the board.
In the see-saw battle with the Saints the following afternoon Shipe did not make it easy for St. Lawrence to come away with the win stopping 31 of 32 shots in the first forty minutes of play, before the Saints pulled away with the victory in the final period. Currently against conference opponents, Shipe has recorded a .938 save percentage, ranking her third within the ECACHL.
