Brown's Hayley Moore keeps driving to the goal

Brown University's Hayley Moore, the youngest of three children of Don and Marie Moore, was always a respectful child while growing up in Wakefield, Mass. But one day when she happened to hear a conversation her mother was having, Moore almost felt like she was cross-checked -- hard -- into the boards.

"When I was younger I remember hearing my mother talk to other moms about how I played hockey and not too many girls played when I was younger," said Moore, a junior forward. "I overheard her say `It's probably just a phase and she'll grow out of it.' And I got so mad that she said that because I knew how much I liked hockey at that point.
