Zamora Leads Bears Past Providence College, 4-0

Brown got on the board first and early, when senior Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, ONT) netted her sixth goal of the season at the 3:36 mark of the first period. Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) and Meredith Ostrander (Prescott, ONT) assisted on the goal. Junior Pam Dreyer (Eagle River, AK) was solid in net, stopping 10 shots in the period.

A solid defensive effort and impressive play from Dreyer in net kept the score at 1-0 at the end of the 2nd period. The Friars out shot Brown, 10-9 and totaled 3 power plays, but failed to find the back of the net.

Junior Kim Insalaco (Rochester, NY) began an explosion of Bear attack, scoring at the 5:03 mark of the final period. Kate Kenny (Toronto, ONT) and Katie Lafleur (Aylmer, QUE) assisted on Insalaco's goal. Zamora took control after Insalaco's goal tallying two goals at 6:01 and 6:24 of the third. Ostrander and Courtney Johnson (Falmouth, MA) tallied assists on both goals.

Meredith Ostrander matched a career high, recording three assists on the afternoon. With a final tally of 31 saves in the game, Pam Dreyer tallied her second shut out of the season.

The final score was 4-0, in favor of the Bears. Brown improves to 5-5-1 overall and 4-3-0 in the ECAC. After the winter break, Brown will travel to Detroit, MI for a contest against Wayne State University.
