Dec. 2, 2001

Junior Pam Dreyer (Eagle River, AK) was outstanding in the first period, recording nine saves in the period, with some incredible reaction saves. The game began as a physical one, and would remain that way throughout the contest.

Scoring began in the second period, when Shannon Smith got the Saints on the board at the 1:59 mark of the period. St. Lawrence held that lead until the 18:41 mark, when senior Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, ONT) netted her fifth goal of the season. Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) and Kim Insalaco (Rochester, NY) assisted on the goal. Dreyer was again solid between the pipes, posting 12 saves in the period.

St, Lawrence would take a 2-1 lead just 1:37 into the third and final period, when Shannon Smith recorded her second goal of the game. Junior Cassie Turner (Campbellford, ONT) tied the score at 2-2, when she fired a shot past Saints goaltender, Rachel Barrie. Time of the goal came at 8:13 of the third.

Freshman Katie Guay (Westfield, MA) scored what would be the game-winner at the 15:24 mark of the final period, when she rocketed a shot from the blue line, making the score 3-2. Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) assisted on Guay's goal. The goal was Guay's second game-winning goal of the season. Kim Insalaco got an insurance goal at the 19:11 mark, when she scored on an empty net.

The Bears improve to 4-4-1 overall and 4-3-0 in the ECAC. Brown returns to action on Saturday December 8, for a 2:00pm matchup at Northeastern.
