Brown Women's Ice Hockey Drops 5-2 to Minnesota

The Brown University women's ice hockey team (1-2-0, 0-0-0) dropped a 5-2 decision to Minnesota (7-0) at Meehan Auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
The Gophers dominated the first period scoring four goals. Their first goal came in the first five minutes of the game. Brown tied the score with a goal from sophomore Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) at 8:31. Junior Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) had the assist. However, Minnesota answered back with a goal 20 seconds later. The Gophers added two more goals in the period to give themselves a 4-1 advantage over the Bears.
Both teams were quiet in the second until Minnesota scored a goal at the 7:38 mark, giving them a 5-1 lead.
Brown junior Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) added a late goal in the third off a rebound from Zucker. The Gophers and Bears will rematch tomorrow at noon at Meehan Auditorium.
