Brown Women's Ice Hockey Defeats St. Lawrence 3-1, Advances to ECAC Championship

St. Lawrence lit up the scoreboard first when freshman Trisha Powers netted her 6th goal of the season at the 3:41 mark of the 2nd period. Senior Meredith Ostrander answered the tally less than one minute later, when she fired a shot from the point past Saints' goaltender Rachel Barrie.

Senior Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, Ontario) gave the Bears the lead at 14:27 of the second when she collected a loose puck and slotted in into the net. Emily Sigman (Milton, MA) and Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) were credited with the assists in the game.

Junior Kim Insalaco (Rochester, NY) got Brown's third and final goal at the 15:12 mark of the final period. Insalaco got off a crafty shot from the goal line that deflected off a St. Lawrence defender. Krissdy McManus (Dedham, MA) and Courtney Johnson (Falmouth, MA)received the assists on the goal.

Junior Pam Dreyer played in net for the Bears and recorded 22 saves on the afternoon.

Brown improves to 23-7-2 overall and will take on Dartmouth in the ECAC Finals on Sunday March 17.
