Brown Defeats Princeton, 4-1, Improves to 19-7-2 on the season

At the conclusion of the first period, both teams found themselves in a deadlocked, scoreless tie. Both goaltenders were solid, as Brown's Katie Germain recorded 12 saves in the period, and Van Beusekom stopped 15 shots for the Tigers.

Freshman Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) broke the scoring drought, netting a goal at the 10:57 mark of the 2nd period. Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) and Katie Lafleur (Aylmer, Que) assisted on Link's 14th goals of the season. Link and Nugent teamed up again just over 3 minutes later, when Link recorded her second tally of the night. Nugent was credited with the assist, along with Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, Ontario).

Princeton cut the lead to 2-1 at the 17:26 mark of the 2nd, when April Brown tallied her 3rd goal of the season. Melissa Deland assisted on the goal.

Brown solidified the win in the final period, netting two goals in the period. Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) collected the puck behind the net and slotted it into the right lower corner of the net at the 6:03 mark of the 3rd. Zamora got Brown's final goal just over seven minutes into the period. Kerry Nugent and Meredith Ostrander (Prescott, Ontario) assisted on the goal.

Katie Germain finished the night with 30 saves, while Princeton's Van Beusekom posted an outstanding 50 saves.

Brown returns to action Saturday afternoon at Meehan Auditorium, when the team will host Yale at 4:00pm.
