Brown Women's Ice Hockey Drops to Dartmouth 3-2

The Brown University Women's Ice Hockey Team (15-9-2, 11-4-1 ECAC) dropped a tough game to Dartmouth (20-5-2, 12-3-1 ECAC), 3-2 Saturday afternoon.
Brown took a 1-0 lead 7:46 into the game. Junior Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) tallied her 19th goal of the season off a pass from Amy McLaughlin (Berlin, MA). The Big Green came back to tie the game at 1-1 at the 12:04 mark. Brown had a few scoring opportunities in the remainder of the period, but both teams skated into the second tied at one.
In the second, both teams were kept scoreless. In net, senior Katie Germain (Sarnia, ONT) remained solid for Brown with nine saves in the period.
The game opened up in the third when Dartmouth went ahead 2-1 at the 10:45 mark but Brown came back to retie the game 2-2 at the 14:39 mark. Sophomore Myria Heinhuis (Chatham, ONT) netted the first goal of her career off a rebounded shot by Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH). Margaret Ramsay (Toronto, ONT) also picked up an assist on the play. However, 12 seconds later Dartmouth regained the lead 3-2 and kept Brown scoreless for the remainder of the game.
The Bears will return to action when they host Princeton, Saturday, March 6 and Yale, Sunday, March 7 in their last regular season games of year. Both games will be played at 2:00 p.m.
