The Brown University Women's Ice Hockey Team (15-8-2, 11-3-1 ECAC) shut-out Vermont (6-23-2, 2-13-0 ECAC), 4-0 Friday night. Four players tallied two points each in the Bears win over the Catamounts.
The Bears got on the board at the 10:20 mark in the first when freshman Kathryn Moos (Wayzata, MN) netted her 7th goal of the season off passes from junior Katie Guay (Westfield, MA) and sophomore Ashlee Drover (Bay Roberts, Newfoundland). Brown dominated the puck in the period out-shooting 24-1Vermont.
The Bears opened up the game in the second scoring their second goal short-handed eight minutes into the period. Moos netted her second goal of the game when she picked up junior Amy McLaughlin's (Berlin, MA) rebounded shot. Junior Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) also picked up an assist on the play. Less than two minutes later Brown tallied their third goal of the game when McLaughlin took the puck top-shelf off passes from sophomore Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) and Link.
The Bears took a 4-0 advantage nine minutes into the third period when Zucker tallied her 11th goal of the season on the power-play. Senior Katie Lafleur (Aylmer, Que) and sophomore Myria Heinhuis (Chatham, ONT) both earned assists on the play.
In net, senior Katie Germain (Sarnia,ONT) earned her second shut-out of the season with six saves.
The Bears will continue action when they travel to face Dartmouth Saturday, February 28 at 4:00 p.m.
