The last contest where Brown (18-7-2, 10-3-1) defeated Harvard came on November 13, 1998 when the Bears collected a 4-2 win at Meehan Auditorium. With post-season play ramifications looming, the Bears and the Crimson took to the ice for the second time thie season.
Junior Kim Insalaco (Rochester, NY) gave Brown a 1-0 lead at the 11:27 mark of the opening period, sliding the puck past Crimson goaltender Allison Kuusisto. Emily Sigman (Milton, MA) assisted on Insalaco's 8th goal of the season.
Freshman Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) tallied her fifth straight goal on a power play opportunity at 16:06 of the 2nd period, tipping in a rebound shot. Senior Kristy Zamora (Oshawa, Ontario) and Freshman Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY) assisted on the goal. Sophomore Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) completed Brown's scoring of the day, collecting the puck sent up by junior Cassie Turner (Campbellford, Ontario), and netting her 11th goal of the season at the 18:00 minute mark of the 2nd. Turner and Senior Meredith Ostrander (Prescott, Ontario) were credited with the assists on the power play goal.
Pamela Van Reesema got the Crimson on the board, netting her 6th goal of the season on a power play chance at 9:20 of the final period. Jamie Hagerman and Tracy Catlin assisted on the tally.
In net, sophomore Katie Germain (Sarnia, Ontario) stopped 21 shots on the afternoon. Her season record now stands at 10-4-0, 7-1-0.
Brown returns to action Friday March 1, for a 7:00pm contest against Princeton at Meehan Auditorium.
