Brown Women's Ice Hockey Suffers Tough Loss to Providence College, 2-1

The Brown University women's ice hockey team (12-8-2, 8-3-1) dropped to Providence College (13-11-2, 8-3-1), 2-1 in overtime Wednesday night at Meehan Auditorium.
With no score in the period, both goalies were solid in net with Katie Germain (Sarnia, ONT) tallying 14 saves for the Bears.
In the second period, Providence came out dominating the action in the Brown zone. The Friars netted their first goal at 14:42 in the period to take a 1-0 lead over the Bears.
Brown tied the score in the third period with 10:34 left on the clock. Sophomore Ashlee Drover (Bay Roberts, NF) tallied her second goal of the season when she chucked it in right outside of PC's goal. Junior Katie Guay (Westfield, MA) and sophomore Margaret Ramsay (Toronto, ONT) added assists on the play. Both teams remained scoreless for the remainder of the period sending the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Friars netted the game winner just 33 seconds into play.
The Bears will continue action when they host Union, Friday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m.
