Brown Women's Hockey Comes From Behind to Defeat #4 St. Lawrence

The Brown University women's ice hockey team (8-4-2, 4-0-1) took the first game of a two-game series defeating St. Lawrence (11-5-1, 4-1-0), 5-4 Friday night in Canton, NY. The Bears scored three straight goals in the third to secure the win.
The Saints got off to a quick start, scoring within the first minute of the game. The Bears answered back at the 14:04 mark when junior Krissy McManus (Dedham, MA) scored off her own rebound to tie the score at 1. Senior Kelly Sheridan (Short Hills, NJ) tallied the assist on the play. However, St. Lawrence regained the lead with less than three minutes left in the period to give themselves a 2-1 advantage going into the second period.
The Bears rallied in the first two minutes of the second to tie the score at 2-2. Sophomore Keaton Zucker (Gilford, NH) notched her seventh goal of the season off passes from sophomore Lindsey Glennon (Exeter, NH) and junior Jessica Link (Clifton Park, NY). The assist was Link's 100th point of her career. St. Lawrence answered back with goals at the 3:30 and 4:48 mark to recapture the lead, 4-2.
The Bears regained momentum in the third and scored three straight goals to take the lead for the first time in the game. Brown brought the game within one with a goal halfway through the period. Link tallied her second point of the game, notching her 12th goal of the season, with sophomore Margaret Ramsay (Toronto, ONT) and Zucker adding the assists. At the 13:19 mark, Glennon tied the score at 4 with a long goal off a pass from senior Katie Lafleur (Aylmer, Que) and McManus. Junior Katie Guay notched the game winner for Brown at 16:16 when she teamed up with junior Kerry Nugent (Andover, MA) in front of the net.
Senior goaltender, Katie Germain (Sarnia, ONT) earned her 8th win of the season, 4th in ECAC play, recording 20 saves in the game.
Brown and St. Lawrence will complete their two game series tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
