The Bears outshot the Bulldogs 44-27 on the night on the way tothe team's fifth ECAC win of the season.
Kristy Zamora got the Bears on the board first, when she scored off a feed from Cassie Turner. Time of the goal came at 8:01 of the first period. Jessica Link ,ade the score 2-0 going into the first intermission, when she collected the puck behind the net and stuffed it past Yale's goaltender Franck at the 9:07 mark. Meredith Ostrander and Marguerite McDonald assisted on Link's goal.
Katie Guay scored the first of her five goals, 48 seconds into the period. Kelly Sheridan and Mandy McCurdy tallied assists on that goal. Yale got on the scoreboard at the 3:07 mark of the 2nd period, when Deanna McDevitt finished on a powerplay goal. Then it was the start of the Katie Guay show, as the freshman from Westfield, MA scored four straight goals, including an impressive finish on a breakaway at the 6:42 mark of the 3rd period. Guay'f first goal came at 17:41 of the 2nd, on an assist from Jenny Rice and Sheridan. Less than one minute later, Guay lit the lamp again, scoring from Rice and Turner.
Guay got the hat trick at 1:44 of the final period, making the score 6-1. Meredith Ostrander assisted on the goal. Guay's final tally came in the third at 6:42, Turner and Sheridan assisting. McCurdy scored her second of the night at 8:15m from Katie Lafleur and Jess Link. The final tally of the night came when Kristy Zamora scored her second of the night at 8:45. Assisting on her goal was Link and McCurdy.
Yale managed to find the back of the net twice more, with both goals coming in the final two minutes of play.
Katie Germain made 24 saves on the night.
Brown (8-6-1, 5-3-0) returns to action on Saturday January 12, when the team will take on Princeton in Princeton, NJ.
