Dartmouth Takes 4-2 Game Despite Farrer's Two Goals
February 6, 2010Hanover, N.H. - Freshman forward Erica Farrer (Calgary, Alb.) had the best game of her collegiate career on Saturday evening, scoring her second and third career goals at Dartmouth, but it wasn't enough to help the Bears (2-18-4, 0-15-3 ECAC) hold off the Big Green (10-12-2, 7-10-1 ECAC) in a 4-2 loss. Farrer scored in the first period to give Brown the early lead, and again in the third to tie the action at two, but Dartmouth's offense was relentless, powering the home team to the win.
#6 Harvard Grabs 4-1 Win Over Bears
Despite holding even with the #6 Crimson (14-5-4, 10-5-2) through much of two periods, Brown (2-17-4, 0-14-3) dropped a 4-1 game to Harvard on Friday evening, as rookie goalie Katie Jamieson's 40 saves weren't enough to staunch the Crimson's offense. Freshman defender Victoria Smith scored her first career goal to pull the Bears into a 1-1 deadlock in the second period, but Harvard goalie Laura Bellamy allowed nothing else past her in just her eighth career start.
Bears Drop 3-2 Overtime Thriller to Yale
In the second half of a weekend home-and-home series against Ivy rival Yale, the Bears lost a tough 3-2 game in overtime at Meehan Auditorium on Sunday afternoon, despite a goal and an assist from junior Erica Kromm. With the loss, Brown falls to 2-16-4 on the season, including 0-13-3 in ECAC Hockey play, while Yale improves to 9-11-3 overall, and 7-8-1 against league opponents.
Women's Hockey Game At Yale Delayed
Due to a problem with the compressors at Ingalls Rink, the women's hockey game against Yale has been moved back to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Brown fans will still be able to follow the Bears through B2 Networks and live stats by logging on to www.brownbears.com.
