Women’s Hockey Names 2014-15 Captains, Presents Team Award Winners

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Rising senior Lauren Vella (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been named team captain while classmate Kaitlyn Keon (Toronto, Ontario) and rising junior Alli Rolandelli (Minnetonka, Minn.) have been named assistant captains, it was announced by Head Coach Amy Bourbeau at the Brown women's hockey banquet. The Bears also handed out several team awards to honor individual accomplishments from the 2013-14 season.

Senior goalie Aubree Moore (Bowie, Md.) received Team Most Valuable Player Honors for the second time in her career after earning the same award as a sophomore. Sophomore defenseman Hunter Davis (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was the team's Most Improved Player and senior Jessica Hoyle (Toronto, Ontario) took home the Alli McMillan '74 Unsung Hero Award. Rolandelli received the Great Teammate Award for the second straight season and senior Samantha Woodward (Lexington, Mass.) earned the team's Strength & Conditioning Award. Senior Vanessa Welten (Crysler, Ontario) was honored with the team's Academic Excellence Award and classmate Kelly Kittredge (Mahwah, N.J.) garnered the Panda Cup, which is awarded annually to the member of the team who has demonstrated outstanding team spirit, good sportswomanship and dedication to playing ice hockey.

The 2014 Team Contribution Award was presented to Brian and Cathy Kittredge for all they have done for the Brown women's hockey program.
