Moore Named ECAC Goaltender of the Week
ECAC Women's Hockey Weekly Release (Feb. 11, 2014)
ALBANY, N.Y. – Brown women's hockey senior goalie Aubree Moore (Bowie, Md.) turned in a pair of stellar performances to earn ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Moore stood rock solid in the net on back-to-back nights, making 51 saves in a shutout win against Rensselaer Friday, posting the first Brown shutout since Moore blanked Union on Dec. 8, 2012. The senior co-captain came back to stop 26 of 27 shots faced in a 2-1 win over Union to give the Bears their first weekend sweep of the season. Moore made a total of 77 saves, including registering a 0.50 goals-against average and a .987 save percentage in the two league contests.
A recent addition to the 2,000 career saves club, Moore ranks fifth in the ECAC and 13th in the nation in save percentage (.929). She has eclipsed the 50-save mark three times this season, leading the Bears to a 2-0-1 record when she accomplishes the impressive defensive feat.
Moore and the Bears hit the road for their last road trip of the regular season when they head to Princeton on Friday and Quinnipiac on Saturday for a pair of ECAC contests.
