Women’s Hockey Clipped at Maine, 2-1
ORONO, Maine – Freshman Erin Conway (Jackson, Mich.) halved a two-goal deficit with a marker in the third period, but the Brown women’s hockey team (1-9-2) could not overcome an early disadvantage and fell 2-1 to the University of Maine (1-12-4) in non-league action at Alfond Arena on Friday.

Women’s Hockey Prepares for Two-Game Set at Maine
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – This weekend marks a battle of the bears as the Brown women’s hockey team (1-8-2) heads to Orono to face the Black Bears of the University of Maine (0-12-4) in non-conference action at Alfond Arena. Game one is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. with Saturday’s rematch slated for 12 p.m.

Women’s Hockey Faces Providence for Mayor’s Cup, Falls 3-2 in OT
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Jessica Hoyle (Toronto, Ontario) put the Brown women’s hockey team ahead 2-1 early in the third period but Janine Weber fired in the game-winning goal 1:27 into overtime to help Providence College top Brown 3-2 and reclaim the Mayor’s Cup at Schneider Arena on Saturday. The Bears, who held the Cup for two seasons after last year’s 2-2 tie, fall to 1-8-2 overall, while the Friars improve to 7-10-0 on the season.

Women’s Hockey to Battle Providence in 19th Mayor’s Cup on Saturday (3 p.m.)
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Mayor’s Cup is on the line for the 19th time between the Brown women’s hockey team (1-7-2) and the Friars of Providence College (6-10-0) when the crosstown rivals face off at Schneider Arena on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Bears maintained possession of the Cup last season with a 2-2 tie and will look to win the trophy outright for the second time in three years.

Women’s Hockey Edged by UVM in OT, 4-3
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Jessica Hoyle (Toronto, Ontario) scored her second goal of the night to tie the game at 3-3 with under seven minutes to go in regulation but Dayna Colang delivered the game-winner 3:45 into overtime to hand the Brown women’s hockey team a 4-3 defeat at the hands of the University of Vermont in non-league action at Meehan Auditorium on Tuesday. The Bears slip to 1-7-2 overall while the Catamounts climb to 7-7-2 on the season.

Women’s Hockey to Host UVM in Non-League Action on Tuesday (7 p.m.)
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After opening a stretch of five straight non-league games with a 1-1 tie with UConn last week, the Brown women’s hockey team (1-6-2, 0-5-1 ECAC) is set to host the University of Vermont (6-7-2, 4-3-1 Hockey East) at Meehan Auditorium on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The stalemate against the Huskies snapped a five-game losing streak and Brown aims to get back in the win column in their second straight game against a Hockey East foe.

Women’s Hockey Skates to 1-1 Draw with UConn
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Sarah Robson (Mississauga, Ontario) broke a scoreless tie in the second period and senior goalie Aubree Moore (Bowie, Md.) fought for 34 saves but a Huskies goal with 1:38 left in regulation forced the Brown women’s hockey team to a 1-1 tie against the University of Connecticut in non-league action at Meehan Auditorium on Tuesday. The Bears move to 1-6-2 overall while the Huskies shift to 4-6-2 on the season.

Woo’s Overtime Marker, Moore’s Defense Lift Women’s Ice Hockey Over RIT in OT, 2-1
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Freshman Maddie Woo (Plymouth, Minn.) scored her first collegiate goal in grand fashion when she potted the game-winner with 1:47 left in overtime to give the Brown women’s ice hockey team a 2-1 win over RIT in non-conference action at Ritter Arena on Saturday. The Bears exact revenge for a 2-1 setback in yesterday’s opener, improving to 1-1-0 with the season’s first victory. The Tigers slip to 4-5-0 on the year despite firing a season-high 55 shots on goal.

Bourbeau Announces 2013-2014 Women's Ice Hockey Schedule
Amy Bourbeau, the head coach of the Brown women’s ice hockey team, has recently announced the Bears’ 2013-2014 schedule. The upcoming campaign will feature 13 home contests, seven non-league match-ups and 22 league battles. Additionally, the squad will square off against three teams that skated in the 2013 NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Championship Tournament, battling each on two separate occasions.
