Brown Returns to Meehan Auditorium for a Two Game Series Against RIT

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND – The Brown women's ice hockey team (1-5-0, 1-5-0 ECAC) returns to Meehan Auditorium this weekend for a two game series against the Rochester Institute of Technology (4-4-2, 1-2-2 CHA), their first non-conference competition of the 2012-2013 season. The two schools have not met since February of 1995, when the Bears triumphed, 7-0, at Ritter Arena in Rochester, New York. Friday's game will be the first of three home contests for Brown before they end the month of November with a trip to Canada to face the University of Montreal and McGill.

The Bears will take on the Tigers at Meehan at 7:00pm on Friday, before returning to the ice for a 4:00pm puck drop on Saturday afternoon. Brown fans who would like to follow the action from home can do so with live stats or video, both of which can be accessed through the women's ice hockey schedule page on brownbears.com.

Last Time Out: In spite of two defeats, Brown was invigorated by aggressive play and offensive success against St. Lawrence and Clarkson and will look to snap a four-game loosing streak with the home ice advantage. Playing three of their first six games against ranked opponents, the Bears have been tested early, exhibiting their defensive prowess while looking to find their offensive stride. Sophomore Sarah Robson (Mississauga, Ontario) netted each of Brown's goals this past weekend, and she currently leads the team in both points and goals scored. Lauren Vella (Staten Island, NY) has added two assists to the team's offensive totals, while seven other players have contributed a point. Junior Aubree Moore (Bowie, MD) and senior Katie Jamieson (Waterloo, Ontario) continue to split time in net, each with three games under her belt. Moore currently ranks third in the league with a .949 save percentage and sixth with a .135 GAA, while Jamieson is sixth with a save percentage of .936 and eighth with a 2.34 GAA.
