Brown Begins Home Schedule with Games Against No. 6 Harvard and Dartmouth

After a successful opening weekend on the road in New York, the Brown women's ice hockey team (1-1-0) will begin their home schedule this weekend at Meehan Auditorium with two ECAC contests against perennially strong opponents. Friday's game, scheduled to start at 7:00pm, features the Harvard Crimson (2-0-0), currently ranked sixth in the nation, while Saturday's match-up, a 4:00pm start, pits the Bears against the Dartmouth Big Green (1-1-0).

Draft Day: Saturday afternoon's game against Dartmouth marks a very important event for the Brown women's ice hockey community. Before the start of the first period, the Bears will welcome the newest member of their team, nine-year old Angelica Negron (Greenville, RI), with a special ceremony at center ice.

Last Time Out: Brown began both season play and league action last Friday afternoon when they took on No. 2 Cornell in Ithaca, New York. The Bears challenged the Big Red from start to finish, with senior Katie Jamieson (Waterloo, Ontario) serving as a key player in their 2-0 loss. She made 35 saves in her season debut, allowing only one goal in the second period before Cornell tallied an empty net goal in the last ten seconds of the game. On Saturday afternoon, the team traveled to Hamilton, New York where they overcame the Colgate Raiders in convincing fashion. Four different Bears found the back of the net in their 4-1 victory, while junior Aubree Moore (Bowie, MD) made 26 saves in her first appearance in net.
