PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After one of the best seasons in nearly six years for the Brown women's ice hockey program, the awards and honors continue to pile up for the Bears. Sophomore goalie Aubree Moore (Bowie, Md.) was named to the ECAC Hockey third team after she was named one of three finalists for the Goalie of the Year award, while freshman forward Sarah Robson (Mississauga, Ontario) was selected to the All-Rookie Team. Brown was also awarded SKOR Team of the Year Honor.
Moore was one of the main factors that sent Brown back to the ECAC hockey playoffs for the first time since 2006. The second-year goalie was sensational for the Bears, registering the third best save percentage (.938) in the country, and best among her ECAC Hockey counterparts in overall contests.
She posted a 2.15 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage, with 386 saves in 13 conference games this season. Moore was responsible for eight of Brown's 14 league points, while splitting time in net with junior Katie Jamieson (Waterloo, Ontario).
Robson developed into a top line forward for the Bears, becoming the main offensive option for Brown toward the end of the season. The rookie was first on the team with 10 goals and second with 17 points. She also totaled seven assists, four power play goals, one game-winner and one go-tying score. She stepped up in conference play, netting nine of her goals in conference play, leading the team with 13 ECAC points.
The Bears returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2006 and became one of the grittiest teams in the ECAC, relying on superb goaltending and timely goals to total 14 conference points. Brown also only tallied 117 penalties in 31 games this season, earning the Team of the Year honor for its superb sportsmanship on and off the ice.
