Jamieson Named ECAC Goalie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Saturday afternoon at Meehan auditorium, sophomore net minder Katie Jamieson (Waterloo, Ontario) turned away 37 shots as the Bears scored with just over three minutes to play to give Brown its first ECAC win this season with a 1-0 victory over RPI. For her efforts, Jamieson was selected as the ECAC Goalie of the Week, as announced by the conference office this morning.

RPI had numerous scoring chances in this past weekend's matchup, as evidenced by Jamieson's 37 saves. In the second period the sophomore turned away 16 shots. After freshman Jessica Hoyle's (Toronto, Ontario) goal with just over three minutes remaining the RPI offense went into high gear but Jamieson continued to stand on her head, making four saves in the final three minutes, facing seven total shots.

For the season, Jamieson boasts a 2-2 record with a 2.45 goals against average and .936 save percentage. The second-year goalie has made 113 saves and only allowed nine goals in 220:00 minutes this season.

The Bears are home this weekend as they take on ECAC foes Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
