New Haven, CT - The Brown women's golf team slipped to a ninth place finish at the Yale Invitational with a two-round 659 (322-337) at the Yale Golf Course, after holding on to fifth place following day one. Host Yale captured the team title with a two-day 619, followed by Harvard (627), Rollins (628), Georgetown (638), St. John's (640), Texas=San Antonio (654), Penn (656), Columbia (658), Brown (659), Dartmouth (662), Towson State (671), Lehigh (673), UAB (680), Birmingham Southern (682) and Sacred Heart (704).
Senior captain Blythe Crane, whose 73 on the first day led the field, fell to 14th place individually with a two day 159 (73-86). Freshmen Sarah Guarascio and Julia Robinson were solid contributors for the Bears, each shooting a two-round 166. Guarascio shot 84-82, while Robson carded 84-84.
Coach Danielle Griffiths' team will be idle until October 20-21 when the Bears travel to Bethlehem, PA to compete in the Lehigh Invitational.
