Hanover, New Hampshire - Coach Mike Harbor's women's golf team opened its 2005 Fall season with a strong fourth place finish in the 17-team Dartmouth Invitational. The Bears shot a two-day 636 (318, 318), finishing behind Columbia (610), Siena (625) and Harvard (629), and ahead of Rutgers (637), St. John's (638), Boston College (639), Dartmouth (643), Hartford (671), Middlebury (676), Boston U. (681), Wellesley (682), Central Connecticut (694), Sacred Heart (710), Mount Holyoke (713), Albany (717) and Amherst (764).
Sophomore Tiffany Wade (Alameda, CA) came up big for the Bears, finishing in a tie for third place individually with a two-day 151, shooting 79 on day one and a sizzling 72 on the second day of play. Senior Eleanor Thomas (Auburn, AL) placed 25th individually, shooting 71-81-160.
Sophomore Blythe Crane (Chelsea, MI) came in at 163 for the Bears, shooting 83, 80, while freshman Karin Freed (Weston, FL) shot 77-87-164. Freshman Christine Pappas (Sewickley, PA) also scored for the Bears with a two- day 175 (90, 85).
