2011 Fall Academic All-Ivy Announced
December 13, 2011The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.
Women’s Golf Wins Lehigh Invitational
The Brown women’s golf team shot a sizzling final round 298, coming from behind to capture the Lehigh Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,005 yard Saucon Valley Country Club’s Grace Course. Bears’ freshman Stephanie Hsieh tied for the individual championship, but lost medalist honors in a one-hole playoff.
Bears 6th At Harvard Invitational; Prepare For Lehigh Invitational
Brown’s women’s golf team had a 6th place finish at the Harvard Invitational, a tournament that included all seven Ivy League golf-playing schools. Brown’s 36-hole 658 was just two shots out of fifth place and three shots out of fourth place in the tournament played at the par-72, 6006 yard Boston Golf Club. Senior captain Megan Touhy paced the Bears with a 36-hole 158 on rounds of 79-79, finishing seventh individually.
Brown Women’s Golfers 2nd At Spider Invitational; Stephanie Hsieh ‘15 Wins Tournament Medal
Led by tournament medalist Stephanie Hsieh ‘15, the Brown women’s golf team turned in an outstanding performance at the Spider Invitational, hosted by the University of Richmond, finishing second with a 54-hole total of 917 in the event played at the par-72, 6,100 yard Independence Golf Club.
