East Providence, R.I. – The Brown women's golf team hosted the fourth annual Brown Bear Invitational and finished fourth in the 13-team event played at the par 71, 6,000-yard Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, Rhode Island. With wind gusts up to 40-miles per hour, Brown shot 324-335—659 in the 36-hole tournament.
Harvard captured the team championship with a two-day 628. Boston University placed second (648) followed by Fairleigh Dickinson (658), Brown (659), LIU Brooklyn (666), Dartmouth (677), Quinnipiac (679), Siena (682), Central Connecticut (692), Albany (697), Hartford (704), Wagner (716) and Holy Cross (811). Harvard's Tiffany Lim captured the medal with rounds of 73-79—152/
Brown junior Stephanie Hsieh placed seventh individually and led the Brown team, battling the high winds to shoot 80-80—160. Junior Cassandra Carothers placed 17th individually with rounds of 83-82—165.
Freshman Rosanna Lederhausen also played well for the Bears, shooting a 36-hole 166 for a top 20 finish (19th) on rounds of 82-84. Sophomore Lauren Flynn came in with rounds of 82-89—171, while Juliette Garay shot 80-93—173. Freshman Julie Lym played as an individual and shot 87-93—180.
The Bears are back in action again at the Ivy League Championship, April 25-27, at the Baltusrol Country Club in Springfield, New Jersey.
