Providence, R.I. - The Brown women's golf team will host the Fourth Annual Brown Bear Invitational on April 14-15 at the par-72, 6,012 yard, Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, Rhode Island. The famed Donald Ross designed course on the Narragansett Bay was the recent host of the USGA Women's Amateur Championship.
Competing teams include Brown, Boston U., Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Lehigh, LIU, Quinnipiac, Rutgers, sacred Heart, Seton Hall, Siena, St. John's and Yale.
Coach Danielle Griffith's team placed second at last year's tournament with St. John's winning the team title.
The Bears are led by sophomore Stephanie Hsieh, a first team All-Ivy selection a year ago. The extremely young Brown team features one senior (Erica Farrer), four sophomores (Hsieh, Cassandra Carothers, Michalle Chen, Kanika Gandhi) and three freshmen (Lauren Flynn, Juliette Garay and Maggie Min).
Tee off-times begin on Sunday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m., with the final tee-off time at 2:30 p.m.
Monday's final round on April 15 is scheduled for a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Play is expected to conclude by 2:00 p.m. with the awards ceremony immediately following.
