New Haven, CT – Playing its second tournament of the fall season, the Brown women's golf team placed 10th at the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 5,901 yard Yale Golf Course. The Bears shot a 54-hole 954 on rounds of 317-317-311.
Nova Southeastern University, the four-time defending NCAA Division II Champions, captured the team championship by 26 shots with a 54-hole 859. Penn State placed second at 885, followed by Harvard (886), Yale (909), Seton Hall (909), Longwood (910), Boston College (911), Princeton (919), Rutgers (932), Brown (945), Penn (954), Lehigh (958), Lee (966), Dartmouth (977), Sacred Heart (1002) and LIU-Brooklyn (1012).
Sophomore Stephanie Hsieh turned in another strong performance with a seven over par performance over the three rounds, shooting 75-73-75—223 to finish 14th individually.
Freshman Maggie Min had a strong tournament for the Bears with a 54-hole 236 on rounds of 80-78-78. Freshman Lauren Flynn shot 80-80-77—237, while freshman Juliette Garay shot 82-86-81—249. Senior Erica Farrer was Brown's fifth score with rounds of 82-86-87—255. Sophomore Cassandra Carothers played as an individual and shot 86-82-89—257.
The Bears will be off for a week before returning at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, October 8-9, at the Greenville CC in Greenville, NC.
