Bears Place Second At Princeton Invitational

Princeton, New Jersey - The Brown women's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Princeton Invitational, finishing second overall in the 12 team field with a 54-hole total of 910, falling to tournament champion Harvard by just four shots.   Bears' freshman Stephanie Hsieh placed third individually with a three-round 220 atbteh tournament played at the Springdale Country Club.

Harvard's 302-302-303—906 captured the team title, followed by Brown (303-305-302—910), Columbia (915), Rollins (915), Penn (925), Princeton (926), Seton Hall (933), Dartmouth (936), Rutgers (940), Lehigh (956), Siena (964) and St. Mary's (1044).

Hsieh opened with an even par 72 and added 73-74 for her third place finish, just one shot out of second.  Senior Megan Tuohy shot 74-77-72—223 to place seventh individually.
Freshman Michelle Chen also played well with a 54-hole 233 on scores of 78-76-79, good for 20th individually.  Seniors Heather Arison and Carly Arison each shot 237, with Carly shooting 81-79-77, and Carly 79-80-78.  Junior Erica Farrer played as an individual and shot 90-87-89—266.

The Bears will be back in action again October 10-11 at the Richmond Invitational.
