Beallsville, MD - Brown's women's golf team improved on the final day of play at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational at the 6,127 yard par-72 Four Streams Golf Club, finishing 12th in the 17 team field with a two-round 671, just one shot out of 11th place.
Nova Southeastern captured the team title with a two-day 612, followed by Maryland (616), Campbell (635), Rollins (635), Yale (637), Georgetown (647), Columbia (648), Penn (649), Rutgers (650), Radford (664), St. John’s (670), Brown (671), Boston College (676), Hartford (687), Lehigh (698), Towson (701) and Sacred Heart (702).
Brown turned in a consistent performance for the second straight day, improving by three shots (334) from its previous day 337.
Sophomore Heather Arison was the epitome of consistency shooting 83-83—166 to lead the Brown team and finish 43rd individually. Sophomore Megan Tuohey also shot 83 for the Bears on day two to finish two shots behind Arison at 168, 46th individually.
Junior Julia Robinson turned in Brown’s third score of 83 to come in at 169, finishing in a tie with junior Susan Restrepo for 51st place individually. Restrepo’s two-day 169 game on rounds of 84-85. Sophomore Carly Arison also scored for the Bears, shooting 85-91—176.Two Brown golfers competed as individuals with junior Sarah Guarascio shooting 87-87—174, and freshman Claire Straty coming in with 91-96—187.
Coach Danielle Griffith’s women’s golf team will be back in action again at the Columbia Roar-ee Invitational, April 16-17, at Spook Rock Golf Club in Suffern, NY.
