Buza, Pierpont, and Harwood Earn All-Ivy Field Hockey Honors

Brown juniors Lizzie Buza (Houston, TX), Meaghan Harwood (Hoosick Falls, NY) and Laurel Pierpont (Jacksonville, FL) were all selected to the 2002 All-Ivy team.

Buza earned First Team Field Hockey All-Ivy honors this season, after earning Second Team recognition a year ago. The team's third leading scorer, Buza is one of Brown's best all-around players, and a dominant force in the midfield. She finished the season with 13 points, on four goals and five assists, including three goals and two assists in Ivy League competition.

After leading this year's team in scoring with 33 points (13g, 7a), Pierpont earned Second Team recognition. She was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after an 11 point week, including tying a Brown single-game point record with eight points against Columbia. In Ivy League competition, Pierpont totaled 19 points on eight goals and three assists.

Also making her first appearance on an All-Ivy team is Harwood, who earned Honorable Mention recognition. The second-leading scorer on the team, Harwood finished the season with eight goals (16 points), including three in Ivy League games. Brown finished the season with a 7-9 record and returns five of the top eight scorers and the majority of the defense for next season.
