Eight members of the field hockey team were named to the 2006 National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad. Each student-athlete has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better during their time at Brown. Brown was also once again recognized with the National Academic Team Award, which recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the current academic year.

Brown's honored athletes include juniors Katie Auriemma (Medford, NJ), Kristen Hodavance (Emmaus, PA), Andrea Posa (Weston, MA), sophomore Natalie Harrington (Locust Valley, NY), and freshmen Abby Hein (Greenwood Village, CO), Whitney Knowlton (Columbus, OH), Nora Malgieri (Gates Mills, OH), and Madison Miketa (Durham, NC).

Auriemma, Hodavance, and Posa are all three-time honorees, while Harrington was recognized for the second straight year.
