PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown University Field Hockey Team (5-10, 2-5) dropped its final game of the 2004 season, falling to visiting Yale, 3-2, in overtime on Saturday afternoon at Warner Roof. Junior Brooke Townsend (Stamford, CT) and freshman Ani Kazarian (Providence, RI) each scored in the loss.

The Bulldogs took the first lead of the game, when Catherine Lindroth fired the ball past senior Katie Noe (Simsbury, CT) just 7:33 into the game.

However, the Bears controlled the remainder of the first half, and Townsend tied the contest just 2:14 later off a Brown penalty corner. Sophomore Samantha Lloyd (Shavertown, PA) had the push-in on a Brown corner, and the ball went right to senior Julia Kelderman's (Chevy Chase, MD) stick. She stopped it for Townsend, and she rifled the ball into the back of the net for the Bears' first goal of the game.

Less than 10 minutes later, at 16:14, Kazarian scored with a long shot from the edge of the circle, giving Brown a 2-1 lead.

The Bears held onto the 2-1 advantage until Sarah Driscoll scored her first of two goals to tie the game at 2-2 just 9:30 after halftime.

Despite several chances for both teams during the rest of regulation, neither team could put the game away and it headed to overtime.

With under five minutes remaining in the first overtime, Lloyd had a breakaway for Brown, but the ball was moving too fast, and Yale's keeper got to it before Lloyd. The Bulldogs moved the ball up field on the next drive, and Driscoll scored the game-winner for 3:19 left on the clock.

In net for the Bears, Noe played 10:48 and allowed one goal. Sophomore Evelyn Brosi (Baltimore, MD) came in with 24:12 left in the first half and recorded six saves in 70:53. Today's game marked the final career contest for Kelderman, Noe, and senior Evan O'Connell (Greenwich, CT).
