PROVIDENCE, RI - Providence College (13-7) opened the game with a 4-0 run and never looked back en route to a 6-1 victory over the Brown field hockey team (0-16) on Tuesday afternoon at PC. Two different Friars scored twice in the win, while Jessica Lane had three assists to lead Providence.

The Friars outshot Brown, 12-7 in the first half and scored two goals in a span of 2:29 to grab a 2-0 lead at 14:28. After 13 minutes of scoreless action, the Friars doubled their lead in a span of 1:52 on back-to-back goals by Nellie Poulin and Ashlyn Hudson.

However, just 1:45 later, at 30:47, freshman Tacy Zysk (Walpole, MA) got Brown on the board with her second goal of the year, off an assist from junior Victoria Sacco (Madison, NJ) to close the first-half scoring.

Freshman Lauren Kessler (Burtonsville, MD) finished the first half with four saves, before giving way to senior Kristen Hodavance (Emmaus, PA), who played the second half.

PC added to its lead just 3:53 after halftime and then scored the final goal of the game at 46:46 for the 6-1 score.

Hodavance finished the second half with seven saves, allowing two goals. Sacco led Brown with six shots, while Zysk and freshman Katie Hyland (Riegelsville, PA) each had three. The Bears return to action on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 when they travel to New Haven to face Yale in their final game of the season.
