Bears Fall to Princeton, 6-0

PRINCETON, NJ - The Brown University Field Hockey Team (4-7, 1-3) dropped a 6-0 decision to Princeton (4-8, 3-1) in an Ivy League contest on Saturday afternoon in New Jersey.
The Tigers took control of the game from the opening whistle, pounding Brown freshman goalie Kristen Hodavance (Emmaus, PA) in the first 20:00 of the game as they netted three goals. Hodavance made an incredible 19 saves in just 45:25 of action, seven shy of the Brown record.
Princeton led 4-0 at halftime outshooting Brown 28-3 in the first 35:00, scoring its third goal off a penalty stroke 19:29 into the game. Hodavance made a diving attempt to save the ball, but couldn't prevent the shot by Lizzie Black from going into the net.
Hodavance gave way to sophomore Evelyn Brosi (Baltimore, MD) with 24:35 remaining in the game, and Brosi recorded seven saves, while allowing one goal.
In net for the Bears, Hodavance and Brosi combined for 26 saves as Brown was outshot 47-4 for the game. The Bears continue action on Wednesday, October 20, when they host Providence at 4:00 p.m.
