Field Hockey Improves to 5-4 with 2-0 Victory Over Sacred Heart

FAIRFIELD, CT - The Brown field hockey team (5-4) tallied one goal in each half en route to a 2-0 victory over Sacred Heart in a non-league contest on Wednesday afternoon.
Less than 10 minutes into the first half, sophomore Nora Pickens (Wyndmoor, PA) scored her second goal of the season to give Brown a 1-0 lead. The goal, which proved to be the game-winner, came on a penalty corner with 27:22 remaining in the first half and was assisted by junior Cory Pelletier (Walpole, MA).
Brown headed into the second half still leading 1-0, but sophomore leading scorer Lizzie Buza (Houston, TX) added an insurance goal with just 10:40 left to play.
Freshman goalie Kathryn Noe (Simsbury, CT) earned her second career shutout and improved her personal record to 5-2-0 with two saves.
The Bears will host Princeton this Saturday, October 13 in a 12:00 game.
