BOSTON, MA - The Northeastern Huskies (8-1) snapped Brown's (3-4) three-game winning streak on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Bears by a score of 3-0 in a neutral-site game played at Wentworth Institute.
After 15 minutes of scoreless action, the Huskies, who have now won six in a row, took a 1-0 lead with 19:47 remaining in the first half, when Fior Arrindell fired a shot into the back of the net. Exactly five minutes later, Northeastern got past Brown freshman goalie Kathryn Noe (Simsbury, CT) to increase their lead to two goals with 14:47 left before the break.
Arrindell scored her second goal of the game, the final tally, with 5:47 remaining, securing the victory for the Huskies.
The Bears were outshot 18-9 and the Huskies had twice as many penalty corners as Brown (12-6), however the stellar play by Noe kept Brown in the game the entire time. She finished the day with a career-high 11 saves.
Brown will be back in action this Saturday, October 6, when it travels to play Columbia. The game, originally scheduled for Friday night as 7:00 p.m. has been moved to Saturday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.
