Field Hockey Falls to Hofstra, 2-1, in Season Opener
Sept. 7, 2003
The Brown field hockey team fell to Hofstra, 2-1, in its 2003 season opener on Saturday, September 6, in New York.
The Pride took an early 1-0 lead scoring just two minutes into the game on a penalty corner. However, the Bears came right back as senior Meaghan Harwood (Hoosick Falls, NY) tied the game on an unassisted goal two yards out on a scramble with 4:53 remaining in the first half.
But, at 9:14 of the second half, Hofstra scored what would prove to be the game winning goal.
Brown junior Katie Noe (Stamford, CT) recorded three saves in net, while the Bears tallied five penalty corners in the game.
Brown continues action on Wednesday, September 10, in its home opener, hosting Sacred Heart in a 4:00 p.m. game at Warner Roof.
