Ariel Meyers came to Brown as an assistant coach in the summer
of 2008. She comes to Brown after spending the past two years
working in Fairfax, Virginia in the field of Orthopedics, working
at Commonwealth Orthopedics and most recently at Sport and Spine
Rehab. "Brown field hockey is excited to welcome Ariel to our
coaching staff," said Harrington. "Her high level of playing
experiences along with her top knowledge of the game make her an
incredible addition to the Brown field hockey program." A four-year
member of the Wake Forest field hockey team, Meyers helped to lead
the Demon Decons to a four-year record of 82-8, while capturing
three straight NCAA Championships (2002, 2003, 2004). As a senior,
Meyers was named a Third Team All-American, while also earning
All-ACC and National Academic Squad honors. During the spring of
her senior year, Meyers also competed for the Wake Forest Track and
Field Team. Meyers was a two-year representative on Wake Forest's
Student Athlete Advisory Board and also volunteered on the Athletes
Care Team throughout college. In addition to her playing
experience, Meyers has coaching experience, serving as a counselor
at several field hockey camps at both Wake Forest and Duke, and
also coaching at the Winston-Salem Futures Site in 2005 and 2006. A
native of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Meyers currently resides in
Providence.
