PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown field hockey head coach Jill Reeve revealed the Bears' 17-game schedule for the 2017 season in an announcement made on Tuesday. With seven freshmen set to join the squad in the fall, the Bears will host eight home contests at Goldberger Family Field, opening the season with local foe Bryant on Friday, Sept. 1 on home turf.
Brown will then hit the road for three-straight games, with the first at cross-city rival Providence on Saturday, Sept. 2, and the other two at Drexel (Friday, Sept. 8) and Monmouth (Sunday, Sept. 10).
The Bears return home to host Siena on Friday, Sept. 15 before traveling to Northeastern on Sunday, Sept. 17 and then Columbia on Saturday, Sept. 23 in their first Ivy League battle.
Brown next hosts a pair of games, continuing with Ivy League competition, playing Dartmouth on Saturday, Sept. 30 and ending with a non-conference contest against Sacred Heart on Sunday, Oct. 1.
After playing at Harvard on Friday, Oct. 6, the Bears are home for three-straight. American first visits Providence on Sunday, Oct. 8 and Princeton comes College Hill on Saturday, Oct. 14. Holy Cross closes the homestand on Sunday, Oct. 15.
Brown heads to Cornell and Colgate on Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22, respectively, and then welcomes Penn on Saturday, Oct. 28 for its home finale and Senior Day.
The Bears close out the regular season at Yale on Saturday, Nov. 4.
