PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown field hockey head coach Jill Reeve has announced the Bears' 17-game schedule for the 2014 season beginning in September.
Brown will host seven non-conference games and four Ivy League tilts on Goldberger Family Field, including a five-game home stand to open the season. The Bears will open up with the first of five back-to-back sets this season, as they host Bryant on Saturday, Sept. 6 and UMass-Lowell on Sunday, Sept. 7. After entertaining Georgetown on Sunday, Sept. 14, Brown closes out the five-game home stand with back-to-back contests versus Columbia (Sept. 20) and Sacred Heart (Sept. 21). September concludes with Brown's first road match, a Sept. 27 Ivy League contest at Dartmouth.
Brown returns home for four of the next five games, playing host to Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Siena on Sunday, Oct. 5. A mid-week battle at Quinnipiac awaits the Bears on Wednesday, Oct. 8 before the team returns to Goldberger Family Field for a holiday weekend doubleheader against Lehigh (Oct. 12) and Providence (Oct. 13). The Bears hit the road for the next two games, taking on reigning Ivy League champion Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 18 and Holy Cross on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Brown closes out October with a pivotal home contest against Cornell on Saturday, Oct. 25.
The Bears conclude their regular season slate with back-to-back road games at Penn on Saturday, Nov. 1 and St. Joseph's on Sunday, Nov. 2. Brown will honor its seniors in their final home game on Saturday, Nov. 8 versus Yale.
