Providence, RI - Brown University field hockey coach Jill Reeve has recently announced her team's 2013 schedule. A total of 17 games will be played, including eight home games at Goldberger Family Field.
The Bears open their 2013 slate with a pair of home games September 6th (Bryant) and September 8th (Rider). Following the opening weekend, Brown will hit the road for four straight games, playing a Saturday-Sunday double header at the University of Vermont, where the Bears will face the Catamounts (September 14th) and then Maine (September 15th).
Brown will travel to New York to face Columbia in its 2013 Ivy opener on Friday, September 20th, and then travel to upstate New York to play at Colgate on Sunday, September 22nd. The Bears close out the month of September with a home contest against Dartmouth on September 28th.
The Bears play seven games during the month of October, including four straight at home from October 9th through the 23rd. Brown begins the month with a mid-week night contest at cross-city rival Providence College on October 2nd and then travels up I95 to play at Harvard on October 5th. A mid-week game against Quinnipiac (October 9th) kicks off the four-game homestand, during which Brown will also welcome Louisville (October 13th), defending National Champion Princeton (October 19th), and Holy Cross (October 23rd). The Bears close out the month with a trip to Ithaca, NY where they will meet Cornell on October 26th.
Brown closes its 2013 home schedule on November 2nd against Penn and will travel to Fairfield the next day for its final non-league contest of the season. The Bears return to Connecticut the following weekend to face Yale in their final game of the regular season on November 9th.
