PROVIDENCE, RI – Brown field hockey freshman Alexis Miller (Caldwell, NJ) has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 28th. Miller helped the Bears go 1-1 on the week with a 4-0 shutout at Holy Cross, their third straight win, and a 2-1 overtime loss at Penn.
On Wednesday against Holy Cross, Miller gave Brown a 3-0 lead before halftime when she took a pass from sophomore Clayton Christus (Bernardsville, NJ) and one-timed it into the back of the cage for her fourth of the season. In Sunday's loss to the Quakers, Miller tied the game at 1-1 with about 14 minutes remaining, one-timing another pass from Christus for her fifth of the year.
Miller currently ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 5-1-11 totals and is tied for second on the team with five goals.
The Bears resume action on Saturday, November 3, when they host Yale in a 1:00 p.m. contest. The game marks the season finale as well as the final career game for senior tri-captain Kelley Harrison (Houston, TX).
